70th anniversary of the National Mountain Rescue and Speleological Corps

On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the National Alpine and Speleological Rescue Corps, which is being celebrated this year, the Ulassai Festival 2024 will also feature technicians from the Sardinia Regional Service with the national booth, where it will be possible to learn about all the equipment used in mountain rescues, the Mobile Coordination Center technologies used in the search for missing persons, and how the operations center handles rescue calls through the Georesq app.

For younger children, on Saturday and Sunday mornings there will be an opportunity to try their hand at being a little rescuer with team activities such as how to assemble a stretcher, how to properly pack a backpack and how to plan a hike.

For 70 years, the Corpo Nazionale Soccorso Alpino e Speleologico has been carrying out technical rescues - medical and non-medical - in mountain, cave and inaccessible environments throughout the country with 7,000 specialized operators. In Sardinia it is present with 250 technicians who guarantee 24-hour, 365-day-a-year operations throughout the regional territory, where there are 5 Alpine Stations and 4 Speleological Stations.

Throughout the year, the 70th anniversary of the founding of CNSAS will be celebrated throughout the country through a series of celebratory events in the various regions: in Sardinia, it is the Ulassai Festival 2024 that will host the celebrations for this important milestone.
