Ulassai Festival is coming back

Ulassai, 7th March 2024

Sardinia and outdoor sports, once again a winning combination. The Ulassai Festival, a much-anticipated gathering for climbing and outdoor enthusiasts, is officially returning with a fresh edition slated for 31st May to 2nd June 2024. A recurring event now firmly established as a must-visit destination in the province of Nuoro, designed and executed for enthusiasts and professionals from Italy and across Europe. Attendees can indulge in a weekend of sports within a distinctive natural and scenic setting.

The event

Following the opening ceremony on Friday, 31st May, the programme will unfold throughout the weekend of 1st and 2nd June, featuring two days of outdoor sports activities in the municipal area of Ulassai. Apart from climbing, the main attraction of the event will be a visually stunning highline, spanning 500 metres in length and towering 150 metres high.

However, the offerings extend beyond that, as during the weekend, participants can also engage in yoga sessions, trekking excursions, and a variety of guided mountain bike tours.

Beyond outdoor sports, the festival will be enriched and complemented by music performances, discussions with professional athletes, film screenings, and opportunities for food and wine tastings. It will offer a complete immersion into the heart of the region's excellence in sports tourism. Children, teenagers, and adults, whether amateurs or professionals, will all engage in a variety of activities tailored to different participant categories. This ensures that the festival serves as an opportunity for individuals to explore new experiences and learn fundamental skills.

All of this will unfold in the picturesque setting of Ulassai, abundant in natural and cultural splendour, which includes the Art Station. This contemporary art museum is dedicated to the works of Maria Lai, a renowned Italian artist born in the town located in the province of Nuoro.

The event, promoted by the municipal administration of Ulassai (NU), is organised by Mate communication agency and is part of the project 'ULASSAI: where nature meets art', financed under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR).

All initiatives will be carried out in collaboration with various local organisations, including the Pro Loco and other sports associations affiliated with climbing and outdoor activities in Ulassai.
